Saved
Just finished watching the movie "Saved", starring Mandy Moore, Macaulay Culkin, and Jena Malone. It was a funny movie about the trials and tribulations of a group of teens in a Catholic school. The portrayal of the Jesus-obsessed is dead on. You know the type, quick to point out the sins of others, while blindly refusing to accept their own faults. God is after all, just a concept which we use to explain that which cannot be explained. My name for this force is "The Other", but if God works for you, then by all means fly your "God" flag high LOL.
As I posted yesterday, I was hoping that my kids would be over tonight but they had other plans. I would like to speak a little about them seeing as they hold a great influence in the way I live my life.
My daughter, Colleen, is ten years old and the absolute apple of my eye. She is a little cutie, who is quick to put on the "daddy's little girl" voice whenever she's talking to me. She's a redhead with a fantastic smile who is a joy to be around. She is extremely likeable and has no trouble making friends wherever we go.
My son, Joshua, is eight years old and the best son a dad could ask for. Not as outgoing as his older sister, he has more of a laid back approach to life. He is a big, handsome, strapping, red-haired boy, who I know will grow up to be a fine man.
I also have a step-daughter, Lindsey, who although she isn't my natural daughter, still feels like one to me. She has been in my life for many years, and I have watched her grow into a caring, sensitive young woman. She is an amazing artist, and a proficient writer. She is the type of girl who makes her parents proud just in the way she carries herself in her day to day routine.
These are my spawn LOL, and they are the best kids a man could ask for. I know every parent says that about their children, but I truly believe that I have been blessed by "The Other" through the love of my children. If you have kids of your own, give them a hug and tell them you love them. It's the least you can do for the joy that they bring into your life.
