Oak Harbour
I spent this week working in Oak Harbour. It's a little town north of Seattle, on Whitby Island. It was an uneventful trip for the most part, except when my helper and I went for dinner LOL. The restaurant in the hotel was called Frank's and we should have known by the big cardboard cutout of Xena the Warrior Princess guarding the entrance!! There was also a fiberglass Elvis outside!! I swear, I was laughing so hard! Anyway, it turns out Frank is a Hawaiian. Apparently the state meat (?) of Hawaii is Spam. 90% of the menu was Spam based meals LOL. Needless to say we left without ordering.
I found out this past week that a good friend of mine, Shaun Lambert, has been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer and been given three months to live. Shaun and I played fastball together for many, many years. He's a great friend and the news hit me pretty hard. Those of you that pray, include him in your prayers please. He's a good man. Hang in there Shaun!!
See you when I see you.
