New Moon Rising

Tomorrow is the start of a new month, and a good a time as any to realign my intentions. I have been reading about the "laws of attraction" and it makes sense as far as my life has been recently. The basic premise of this law is that you attract that which you project. Meaning that negativity projected attracts negative situations. Also, by focusing on positive situations you can manifest positive energy to allow these positive things in. It also gives a reasonable theory on the demise of my last relationship, giving me something to look out for the next time around.

I've been working major hours already this week with no letup in sight. I'm going to take this weekend off and spend it with my children. I took them out on Sunday night and let them choose where we went and what we did. Started off with dinner at where else but Denny's LOL. I think the food is horrible there but they seem to like it. My old friend Kevin is the manager and if he's working he always comes by and gets a laugh out of them. His daughters and Colleen hang out once in a while. After Denny's they wanted to go to a park, and they chose Banfield Park in Vic West. It was a little too much in Rechelle's space for me, but it was their day to decide. We hung out there for about an hour and had an absolute blast! Played tag, did the swings, just hung out together, the three of us. They wanted ice cream before the trip home, so it was my turn to pick. We went to Beacon Drive-In, home of the best soft ice cream in Victoria. I can't wait to do it all again tomorrow.

Mt. Brenton

Worked up in Nanaimo yesterday, then absolutely reeked up Mt. Brenton golf course in Chemanius. Shot triple digits, and except for a couple of twenty foot puts made, it could have been much, much worse. I should have just left my driver in my bag it was so bad LOL.

Did all my crane work on View St. this morning. It attracted quite a crowd to see a crane lifting 1300 lb. machines up to the roof of a twelve story building. Those operators are pretty amazing with the crane boom. They can pinpoint the load to within about a foot.

Now that my weekend is pretty much over, I am going to go grab my kids and take them for dinner and some ice cream. I haven't seen them all weekend, so a little quality time is better than none.

See you when I see you.

Workin' Weekend

Got in a round of golf each of the last two days. Good thing to, I've got to work all weekend. Up to Nanaimo tomorrow, with the possibility of doing Mt. Brenton in Chemanius on the way down. On Sunday we need to put some large communications equipment onto the roof of the CIBC building on Douglas and Fort. It should be kinda cool to watch the big crane at work.

See you when I see you.

Hurtin' Unit

Worked a long day in Parksville yesterday, followed by a night of beer. Now I am one hurtin' unit LOL. I have tap dancers practicing in my head and my mouth tastes like shit LOL. The price you pay, I guess. Well not guess, I should say I know. Work today should be an absolute pleasure.

Revenge of the Sith

Took Joshua to see the newest "Star Wars" movie, "Revenge of the Sith" today at the Caprice out in Langford. Definitely the best deal in Victoria as far as movies go. Four bucks each to get in and after popcorn, etc. It still came out to less than twenty bucks for both of us!! You couldn't get the tickets at Silver City for twenty bucks, never mind large popcorn too. We went to the 12:30 show and the theatre wasn't quite full, but there was a big line for the next show.

The movie itself was OK. Lots of special effects to cover up a pretty weak storyline. I hadn't seen the first two from this trilogy, but it was still easy to pick up the story. Josh liked all the light saber battles, and there were quite a few!!! Overall I'd give it a three out of five, meaning I'd watch it again on video, but I wouldn't buy it.

Did an early morning (7AM) golf at Metchosin this morning. Was absolutely crushing the ball off the tee, with nothing to show but a 55 (LOL). I can't remember the last time I shot such a poor round. I guess the only positive to it is there is no where to go but up LOL.

See you when I see you.

Avril Lavigne

My daughter, Colleen, came and stayed over last night and I gave her the Avril Lavigne tickets for her birthday. It isn't for three months but now she can work herself up LOL. The look on her face was absolutely priceless. I love her so much!! I'm going to take Joshua out on Monday for the new "Star Wars" movie. I haven't seen any of the newer series, so I should be in a bit of a fog during the movie. It will be great to get some one on one time with him.

Try to get in a golf today. Going to be tough to get anyone to go with, seeing as it's the first long weekend of the year. The TPC at Metchosin shouldn't be too busy.

See you when I see you.

No Tickee, No Tripee

My trip to Santa Fe was cancelled at the last minute due to overbookings here at home. I mind and I don't as far as going to New Mexico. On one hand, it was a hassle getting U.S money, etc. but on the other, I get to spend Friday night with my kids!! I would say the positives far outweigh the bad. I'll also lose out on a shitload of money, but since when has money ever been an issue with me LOL. In a perfect world, we wouldn't need....yada yada yada.

I have a huge surprise for Colleen when they come over tomorrow. For her birthday in August, I am taking her to see Avril Lavigne!! She wants to go so bad, and I would be thrilled to introduce her to the rock concert LOL!!! I have seen so many great bands in person over the years, and I would like to pass on my appreciation for that to my children. Who knows, maybe we can all go see the Rolling Stones when they are all still going at ninety!! I don't know any of Avril's music, but I've got a couple of months to get prepared.

Anyways, my trip is off so there shouldn't be the big gaps that there have been between my posts.

See you when I see you.

Home for a rest

Home after twelve days of work in Southern California. Had a lot of down time so I actually got to go out and have some fun. Sure is different coming back to that glorious B.C. weather.

Spent the first part of the trip in the Los Angeles area, staying about a block and a half from Disneyland. I went over their first thing and bought things for Joshua, Colleen, and Lindsey. T-Shirts and stuffies and of course, mouse ears! That night, went to see the Anaheim Angels play the Cleveland Indians at Angel Stadium. The seats were horrible, right behind the right field foul pole, but it was still Major League baseball. The game was also kind of boring, with the Indians winning 3-0 behind a two hitter by Millwood and Wickman. I was still glad I went, but a little disappointed just the same.

Went to work in Newport Beach for two days. It is one of the richest communities in the U.S. with everybody driving some sort of German sedan LOL. Played the part of the gawking tourist as I have never been there before. There were a couple of properties in the 20 million dollar range on the market!! U.S. dollars!!

After we loaded there, we drove up to Sausalito, just to the north of San Francisco. Stopped and walked to the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge and threw a penny over the side, making a wish. A cruise ship passed below as I was up there, sailing out of the bay into the Pacific. I wished I would have had a video camera, it looked so beautiful. Had another day to kill, so figured "What the hell", and went down to Oakland for another ball game. The Oakland A's were taking on the world renowned New York Yankees. This time we had awesome seats, right behind first base in the second deck. The Yankees won by a 9-4 count. It was a great game with lots of action, A-Rod, Jeter, Mussina on the mound. What a game!!

Loaded off of a houseboat in Sausalito, and high tailed it back for the border. I always get a little sense of relief when I get back home. There is no place like Canada, and I am very proud to call myself a Canadian. Unloaded the Newport Beach shipment into a high rise on the Vancouver waterfront this morning, and finally got back to Victoria. Called my kids right away, and we went to Dairy Queen for some ice cream and hugs. I gave them their stuff from Disneyland, and we talked about what we were going to do when I get back from Santa Fe. I sure do miss them!!! We are going to do some sleepovers once I get back in about two weeks. I leave Thursday morning, so it is a rather quick turn around.

Tired and eager to sleep in my own bed tonight. Pleasant dreams to one and all, sleep tight.

See you when I see you.

Gone Hollywood

I leave in the morning for a week of work in California. Los Angeles and San Francisco. Hopefully I'll be able to take in the Angels ballgame on Monday night. I am always kind of reluctant to go on extended trips, but the money is pretty good. Plus, travel is travel no matter what the mode.

I found out today that the captain of one of my old pool teams passed away last Sunday. Dave Syrja was not a man I knew well outside of pool, but he had my respect as a man. I was saddened when I found out, and I feel richer for having known him. Goodbye, my friend, you will be missed.

Still have some packing to do. So, until next time.....

See you when I see you.

10:28 PM

At ten twenty-eight PM I tried once again. I went right to where I shouldn't, flicked it into the garden, read the prayer, and asked for the "Other" to assist me in my grand scheme. This may sound like nonsense to you, but it is an important reference point for me LOL.

It is almost time for me to head south again. I've been thinking about the dating thing, and it's probably best left until I get finished with this rush of trips stateside. I leave for L.A. on Friday, and get back on the 17th. The next day I leave for Santa Fe, and get back near month end. Then I have to go to Canmore, Alberta right away!!! No rest for the wicked indeed.

I had some drinks tonight, so it is sleepy time. Sleep tight and sweet dreams.

See you when I see you.

Wish List, Part 2

She would rather read a book than watch TV.

I am attracted to women in skirts, no matter the length LOL. Don't ask me why, I just like 'em. Also, hats are something I think look sexy on a woman.

We could make a whole day disappear just lying around talking about nothing in particular.

Intelligent, aware of the world, open to exploring both the outer and the inner, creative, compassionate, outgoing, romantic,........You know, all the good stuff.

I do believe that she exists somewhere.......

See you when I see you.

Steppin' Out

An e-mail conversation I recently had has prompted some thought out of me and resulted in this post. The conversation was with a woman I met online, who I had numerous engaging conversations with over the course of the last little while. I have been single for a while now, and though I missed the interactions of a relationship, wasn't really interested in pursuing one. She took me to task for this, asking why was I seeking singles when I didn't want to actually get together. I looked inside myself and I've come to the conclusion that I am indeed ready to begin dating again. The lessons I take from my last relationship will help me to build a stronger one this time.

Now, for my dream girl LOL.

Age: Though not really critical, it would be nice to find someone with five years either side of my 38.

Height and Weight: Again, not really important, but I tend to be attracted to women who are tall like me!!

She would prefer happiness over materialism. Love all creatures great and small. Adore children. Like walking where it's green. Show compassion. Smile all the time.

She would like: Snuggling, exploring, beaches, warm rain, campfires, conversation, families, random acts, coloring with crayons, silly hats, sleeping in, storybooks, spooning, and other happy things.

That's all I got for today LOL. I will add a bit each day until I've built my dream woman. If anybody knows someone who I'm describing, please let her know where I am.

See you when I see you.
