Today Not Saturday

I started my previous post as a draft and thought I could put in the date before I posted. Thought wrong apparently. Anyways, happy birthday to me and if it's your birthday, happy birthday to you. As a present to me, try to help someone out today.

See you when I see you.

Reflections Upon Turning Forty

Today marks my fortieth birthday. The classic line goes "Life begins at 40". If this is true, I'm taking some time to reflect upon my "pre-life", or, first forty years. Who I am, how I got to be that person, etc.

I'm pretty satisfied with the person I am, or at least I am becoming. Kindness, compassion, empathy, and the like are all things I strive to project wheen I'm dealing with others. I wasn't always this way and I can honestly say I'm not very proud of who I was for many of the previous forty years. It is only in the last couple of years that I have made the changes necessary, I believe, in my life, to have a positive impact on those around. My spirituality and sense of the underlying current of our planet are at an all-time high, and this too is a positive.

Here's to hoping the next forty years are filled with as much opportunity to learn about myself and the world around me as the last forty. If I could make a birthday wish it would be for more happiness, for both myself and everybody else.

See you when I see you.

Okanogan

Back from a quick four day work trip through the Okanogan. Went to Kelowna, Penticton, and a little piss-ass town called Midway. As far as I could tell, it was midway between nowhere and nothing. It was good to get away for a couple of days, but even better to be back.

See you when I see you.

"The Champ"

The Blueballers baseball team wrap-up took place this past weekend at my place. The awards were quite creative; kudos to Jen, Deb, and Kully for their efforts. My award, as "The Champ", was an authentic, imitation, gold-colored plastic wrestling belt LOL. Needless to say, that belt was worn with pride the entire evening. The party then moved to the Tudor House where the league party was taking place. As far as I could tell, a great time was had by all.

See you when I see you.

Long Weekend

Another long weekend is upon us. Unfortunately, this one usually signals that summer is pretty much over and the monsoon season will soon begin. The kids are coming over later on this afternoon and we'll see what kind of trouble we can get into. I'm still having a hard time believing that my little girl will be going into middle school this year. Time surely does fly!!

My landlords will be returning sometime this month, and I can make the switch from house sitter back to tenant. I'm glad they're coming back because I sure as hell hate mowing the lawn LOL. That and changing litter boxes LOL.

An early heads up for the September 30th weekend. My 40th birthday extravaganza will be taking place Saturday night (the 30th) at my good friend Kelly and Shaun's house. They live at 516 Davida (Off Tillicum near the mall). There will be some great live music and just like Mr. Kite's Benefit, "A splendid time is guaranteed for all". Though there is no word on whether Harry the horse will dance a waltz.

See you when I see you.
