If I Was President

If I Was President - Wyclef Jean

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
And buried on Sunday.

If I was president
If I was president

An old man told me, instead of spending billions on the war,
We can use some of that money in the ghetto,
I know some so poor, when it rains that's when they shower,
Screaming "Fight the Power",
That's when the vulture devoured.

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
And buried on Sunday.

If I was president
If I was president
If I was president
If I was president

But the radio won't play this.
They call this rebel music.
How can you refuse it, children of Moses?

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
And buried on Sunday.

If I was president
If I was president

Tell the children the truth, the truth.
Christopher Columbus didn't discover America.
Tell them the truth.
The truth
YEAH! Tell them about Marcus Garvey.
The truth YEAH! The truth.
Tell them about Martin Luther King.
Tell them the truth.
The Truth.
Tell them about JFK.

If I was president.

If was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday,
And buried on Sunday.

If I was president.
If I was president.

See you when I see you.

Salsa-riffic

I took the kids out for their first taste of hockey last night. We watched the Salsa beat those stinkin' Powell River Paper Kings, 3-2. We sat up in the stands like true Canadians, cheering the home team while sipping hot chocolate LOL. They seemed to enjoy it, and it was relatively inexpensive so we will be going back sometime soon.

I am hoping for a bit of a break in the weather soon so I can take the kids up to the observatory to see Mars. It is at it's closest to earth until 2018 right now and I think they would get a kick out of going there. I know I would LOL.

Internet Issues

After all the work I put into my computer to make it more Internet efficient and Shaw shuts down for a couple of days LOL.Now that I'm back up and running I had better update before something else goes wrong LOL.

Took the kids to JDF pool on the weekend, where they had a Madagascar theme swim. It was OK though geared for kids younger than Josh and Colleen. Still had lots of fun, as we usually do when we are together.

Watched the movie "Crash" the other night. If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend it. It is an interesting look at racial stereotypes and how we view people based on the way the media projects them. It's the best movie I've seen since "The Motorcycle Diaries".

I've been working up island for the past two days, and I'm glad that it's over with LOL. Courtenay, Comox, Parksville and Duncan on Monday. Port Alberni, Nanaimo, Parksville and Duncan yesterday. I was delivering Ultramatic beds, a rip off if ever there was. They charge thousands of dollars for those pieces of junk. Must be some pretty slick salesmen to pass of that shit as a "need to have" item.

Frankenputer

I finally decided to do something about my slow computer. After much diabolical experimentation, I pull back the curtains and give you..............Frankenputer!!!! Like it's namesake, it may not look pretty, but it should get the job done. It's amazing what a little duct tape and bubble gum can do to a machine LOL. I'm off to Courtenay/Comox for the day and I will give a full update of the past few days later on tonight.

We Are Not A-Mused

Wanted: A Muse

Someone who will inspire me creatively. My writing has become somewhat drab lately. Not my blog, that's normally drab LOL, but my actual "real" writing. I find that my creative juices flow freer when I'm inspired by someone who lifts me with their presence. Intellectual stimulation as well as that "feeling" is what I seek. Apply within.

Salmon, Salamander, and Sudden Sight

Joshua and I spent the day down in Goldstream Park immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature. We found some salamander and checked them out. The salmon are spawning now so we went down to the river and I explained the spawning and reproduction cycles to Josh and we stayed and just hung out with nature. It was during this time of incredible peace that I was overcome with this sense of the greater power whose underlying current winds through us all. A feeling of warm fuzziness, no really LOL, surrounded me and my son and something just changed inside me. It's kind of hard to explain but I just feel different since.

Mid-October

In the few days since my last post I'd like to tell you about all the fabulous things that have been happening in my life. I'd like to...........but. LOL. A whole lot of the same old, same old. Work and sleep with very little socializing in between. Not that there haven't been opportunities to go out on the town, just that they haven't been the right ones LOL. Whatever the hell that means.

One of my best friends girlfriends had to have her kidney removed yesterday and I'd like for everyone to say a little prayer for her quick and complete recovery.

Pictures

I have been experimenting with picture placement. Now all I have to figure out is how to remove a picture if it's not the one I thought it was LOL.

Flu Bug

No posts the last couple of days due to the fact that I've caught some sort of flu bug. LOL, I feel like ten pounds of shit stuffed into a five-pound bag. Hopefully this weekend of rest will allow it to pass. Plenty of echinacea (Yes, I had to look up the spelling) seems to be helping.

Lost in Space

I wrote a long, rambling entry earlier tonight, but when I tried to post it, Blogger went down for maintenance. I mean this literally LOL. They went down at 5 and I tried to post about 5:01 LOL. So this is my post instead. The other post was quite hilarious I might add. The best post I've ever written. Oh well........

Back from a few days work up in Kamloops. Saw the first snow of the year up in the mountains. Have to get ready for work, so I'll give a more detailed post tonight when I get home. LOL, for sure.
